Om børnene i den lille by "Nokios Elv"
AMAZING SKAGEN
Grandfather to all the world’s children

Who is Global FarFar?
Well, he’s a bit like the grandparent you’d want to sit beside when the wind howls outside and the crayons are scattered across the table.

He tells stories where children are clever, kind and curious – and where words sometimes get lost, only to be found again through laughter, friendship and a little adventure.
Global FarFar is the pen name of Jan Frederik Bisbjerg.
He lives in Denmark and has spent most of his life working with children, teenagers and adults – as a teacher, a storyteller and a trained psychotherapist.
He’s taught at almost every level of the Danish education system, and for many years he taught psychology at Denmark’s folk high schools ("Højskoler") – special boarding schools for reflection, conversation and lifelong learning.
But most importantly: He’s a grandfather

Kristian, Kiara, Victoria and Sofie – his four grandchildren – are not just inspiration, but collaborators. They draw, they comment, they question. And when Global FarFar wonders whether a story makes sense, they’re the ones who nod, frown or giggle. That’s how you know you’re on the right track.
The stories in The Word Sickness of Nokios Elv and the ones to come are not meant to be perfect.
They’re meant to be shared. Read out loud. With drawings, pauses, mistakes, and smiles.
You are very welcome here.
